CT SCANNING / DIAGNOSTIC
Since its introduction in the mid 1970s, the CT scanner has undergone many innovations. The speed of scanning has increased markedly with the fastest 64 slice scanner, at BMIC, capable of obtaining hundreds of detailed images within a few seconds. There are no faster scanners in clinical use at any hospitals or offices. The quality of the images is as clear and detailed as the scanner is fast.
CT imaging has become the diagnostic procedure of choice in the emergency rooms, which are fortunate enough to be so equipped. At Birch Medical Imaging Center the CT is used for head, chest, abdominal and extremity examinations. Because of its speed it is an ideal method for examining the vascular system including accurate, detailed coronary artery examinations.
Because of the acquisition of massive amounts of data, the 3 D processing of those data has become critical. At BMIC we have put in place the most advanced imaging processing equipment and programs. To insure that Birch Medical Imaging receives the latest in new technology, we have become a teaching center for 3 D imaging.
